⚡️On Sunday March 1st I completed my first indoor triathlon 🏅 with two of my personal training clients. ⚡️ The first leg was 15 minutes of swimming laps🏊♀️. Now that might not sound like a lot but trust me it is hard to swim continuously for 15 minutes straight and trying to go fast!!! I was so thankful I had my family 👨👩👦👦 there to cheer me on. Even under the water I could hear my son yelling that there was a shark 🦈 behind me and to swim faster. I swam 24 lengths of the pool (1 length = 25 yards). We only had 5 minutes to get out of the pool and on the bike. I had to dry off, tear off my bathing suit, get dressed with shoes and socks, and secure my hair all in 5 minutes💫. Even though I was rushed I still made sure I took the time to adjust my bike seat aligned with my hip so I don’t hurt myself. The bike was my favorite and the part I feel I went the fastest 🚴♀️. It was fun to challenge myself and to feel my legs spin almost out of control. I was able to bike 3.430 miles in 15 minutes. The running was by far the hardest part. 💪 I never realized how often I like to stop. You know, to fix my hair, or change the song, or get a drink whatever excuse I needed I took and stopped a lot during my runs on the treadmill. But this time there was no stopping and trying to go faster and faster. It was very challenging and very rewarding… once it was over! 🏃♀️ I ran 1.420 miles in the 15 minutes. I was proud of myself and my clients that competed alongside me. Even if our only competition was ourselves and our self doubt. 🏆 I think this indoor triathlon was a great one to start with but will definitely not be my last one. 🏅Now I have the confidence to try one out side that is based on actual distance not time. I know I can do it. Thank you Don Rodenbaugh Natatorium, one of the great Rec Centers in Allen for hosting such a great event. I can’t wait for next year.
